Car Technology Book: Modern Car Systems Explained

In the last decade, car designers have turned to high technology in order to meet ever more stringent emission control and safety regulations, while meeting the demands of customers for better cars. This extensively illustrated, all-color book sets out to give the non-technically-minded reader an idea of how the systems on a modern car work, and provide answers to the questions which so often arise when talking about modern cars. Both current technology and future developments are explored to appeal to car owners who would like to know more about what goes on beneath the hood of their cars and car enthusiasts who would like to broaden their knowledge.

Customer Review: Breezy style

I can't imagine a better survey of modern car technology. It's as readable as a magazine article but more substantial. The author easily explains the engineering principles involved in suspension, brakes, steering, and so on, then describes the current state of the art, and finally offers a glimpse into the future (individual electric motors for steering, brakes, AC, even valves). This is a very interesting book.
